Enclosed is the Annual Report for the past year for The Hidden Valley Pit of B &B
Excavating, Inc., including map and report form. Past records show that the annual date
for the pit is August 3 of each year. The financial warranty for the permit was increased
this year to $99,000 and the total permit area is 183.6 acres. Eagle County has permitted
the full operation so now the DRMS permit exactly coincides with the Eagle County
Special Use permit. The former operation area was limited to 31.3 acres as shown on the
enclosed map. The mining and reclamation plan is phased.
The following information is provided to comply with Rule 2.4.1:
(1) Mining did take place this year. The material produced and stockpiled over the
course of a few months for supplying the market and other B &B operations with
material through out the year. The wash plant and primary crusher stay on site
year round but mobile crushing and screening operation is only on site for a few
months per year. No new topsoil stripping occurred in 2011 because no new
disturbances happened. The total current disturbance is now 31.3 acres. The
excavated pit and some stockpiles do exist on site. All topsoil and overburden has
been stripped and placed in berms around the pit as planned in the permit. In
addition, the existing disturbance consists of the access road, sediment sump,
wash ponds, a truck scale and scale house /office trailer has been set up as shown
on the enclosed Annual Report Map. A portable crusher /screen plant with a
10,000 gallon diesel tank is brought to the site for processing A few months per
