The bond is rated as good from the
bottom of the log (upper RO) to the middle of the R8 (726 ft bgs), fair from the middle of the R8 (726 ft
bgs) to the lower Uinta Formation (346 ft bgs), poor though the middle of the Uinta Formation, and fair
within the upper Uinta Formation (96 ft bgs to the top of the logged interval [35 ft bgs]).
BH -1 (Attachment H)
CAST -M log completed: June 10, 2011
Casing Depth: 2,017 ft bgs
Interval Logged: 366 — 2,016 ft bgs
The ACE report prepared by Halliburton indicates the cement to pipe bond is adequate from the bottom of
the log (2,016 ft bgs; upper R1) to the lower Uinta Formation (366 ft bgs). The bond is rated as good
throughout the entire interval logged, suggesting adequate isolation of water - bearing zones between the
bottom of the log and lower Uinta Formation. The upper limit of the CAST log is constrained by the
water level surface in the well casing; the CAST method requires that the tool is submerged in water.
Summary and Conclusion
The primary objectives of placing cement seals within the annulus of the referenced wells are to ensure
containment of the retort-test interval and isolation of hydrostratigraphic units, and thereby prevent cross -
hole communication among the units. These objectives are assessed separately below.
Containment of Retort Test Interval
The Halliburton evaluations indicate that for each well, the cement to pipe bond is adequate from the
bottom of the log to the top of the confining zone extending from the retort test interval (R1) to the
dissolution surface and including the L 1, R2, L2, and lower R3. Except for well TM -2, the cement to pipe
