July 25,2011 C-1981-033/13ear Mine JJD <br /> The backfilled access road on the east half of the hillside was well vegetated and stable.The access road <br /> near the west side backfilled portal area had a varying cover of vegetation, from moderate to poor.The backfilled <br /> former fan site also had a good vegetative cover and was stable as well.The west side backfilled portal area <br /> continues to show instability. <br /> REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15❑❑Vegetative Cover;Timing: <br /> The former location of the mine office building on the flat facilities area needs revegetation. The <br /> revegetation on the disturbed areas on the hillside,other than that at the west side backfilled portal area,had a <br /> good vegetative cover. At the west side backfilled portal area,the revegetation was poor,due to the slope <br /> instability problems. <br /> SLIDES and DAMAGE -Rule 4.12: <br /> It appears that recent heavy rains may had caused additional instability on the slope above the hillside <br /> spring area. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04: <br /> The bridge over the North Fork of the Gunnison River was in place and was passable. However,both <br /> outside edges of the abutment on the east side of the bridge are eroding and need to be fixed. In addition,part of a <br /> board on the east end of the bridge has rotted through. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine identification sign was up at the entrance at the top of the hill.The required mine information <br /> was on the sign.The"records location" sign was also up at the top of the hill.
