However, some of the riprap that had been washed out of the <br /> collection ditch a while ago on the west side of the backfilled portal area at the East Mine still needs to be put <br /> back.The operator is working with a contractor to do the work in August. <br /> The sediment ponds at the West Mine, East Mine West Ridge waste pile and at the partially reclaimed highway <br /> coal stockpile area were dry. The embankments of the ponds had a moderate to good vegetative cover.
