The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate the on-the-ground
condition with respect to Trapper Mine's mining and environmental protection activities. Graham Roberts of TMI
accompanied the inspection in the field.
The weather was warm and clear. The ground was wet on all three days but especially on July 20th because the
mine received 0.47 inches of rain on July 19th. (This value was recorded at the office;per Graham Roberts the east
and central areas of the TMI site received more rain.)
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
Roads and other activities were not a source of significant fugitive dust during the inspection. Water trucks were
being used during the inspection on July 21.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1):
The records were in compliance. See check list for details.
EXCESS SPOIL and DEVELOPMENT WASTE—Rule 4.09:
The Horse Gulch Fill was observed and found to be in compliance with the permit. Some relatively small rills
were observed on the fill,but the slope contains significant vegetation. These rills should be monitored in the
future.
EXPLOSIVES—Rule 4.08:
Two blasts were observed during the inspection. On July 20,a parting shot was detonated in K Strike Pit,and a
coal shot was observed in F Pit on July 21.
