ame
inspected by an AMEC field representative and found be constructed in accordance with the
design drawings and project specifications.
Construction of the 26" high volume solution collection piping was performed fusing the
previously perforated pipe sections together.
2) Drain Cover Fill (DCF)
Drain cover fill (DCF) placement within the Phase 5 VLF continued. DCF was placed in the
area show on Figures 6a and 6b. The DCF was hauled from the processing area to the
placement area using CAT 740 haul trucks. The DCF was placed in a 2 -foot lift using a two
CAT D -6 LGP dozers and a CAT D -8 dozer except where haul routes were established. Haul
route consisted of five -foot lifts to be spread into 2 -foot lifts later. Laborers were present at all
times during placement holding the high volume collection piping in place, removing
debris /sandbags, and assisting the dozer operator with lift thickness. All DCF was placed on
previously approved primary geomembrane. AMEC field representatives monitored the DCF
placement constantly.
Backfilling of the high volume solution collection risers and manifold was performed using a
CAT D -6 LGP dozer and a Komatsu 300 excavator. DCF material was pushed to the Komatsu
300 excavator and cast onto the risers. This was performed to allow for the continued
construction of the risers.
3) Ore Placement
Ore placement near the high volume solution collection began using a CAT D -8 dozer. The ore
was hauled from the leading edge of the Phase IV heap placement using 40 -ton articulating
haul trucks loaded by a CAT 385 excavator.
II) Storm Water Management
A) Best Management Practices
Best Management Practices are being observed throughout the VLF Phase 5 Project.
VLF Weekly Report WE 10.02.10.D
