kire
Eric Scott, PG, DRMS
Wagner /Kauffman Pit #3
Technical Revision (TR) Request
July 21, 2011
DCS Project 10-020
The entire east reservoir liner was designed, as well as observed and compaction -
tested, under the direction of a Colorado Registered Professional Engineer (PE),
however, with full documentation and records.
2. The west reservoir is currently shown as an unlined groundwater reservoir with the
approved site Reclamation Plan. The reservoir liner is a change to the planned,
approved reclamation, and therefore will require a change to the Permit.
Eric, from our meeting discussion, we understand that the west reservoir liner change can be
addressed with a Technical Revision (TR) since it will not affect permit layout, timing,
revegetation, nor increase material export haul from the site. Accordingly, please find
enclosed a copy of a new, proposed Exhibit F — Reclamation Plan, intended to revise
Permit M- 1999 -069 held by Jake Kauffman & Son, Inc.
We understand that through the TR review process, we will work with you and the DRMS
team to evaluate the Permit reclamation bond, as it relates to current site reclamation status,
east reservoir liner acceptance, and the proposed west reservoir reclamation change.
As always, thank you for all of your help and attention to the Kauffmans' Permits. We look
forward to working with you on this TR application. Please feel free to contact me directly as
you have any questions, or require additional materials or information.
Respectfully,
DCS, Inc.
Daniel P.
