July 18,2011 C-I 980-005/Seneca II Mine SBI
The Seneca II reclaimed area is functioning well with a few exceptions in the SIIPM-8 drainage on the
eastern end.
A small slump was observed near the base of the reclaimed area on the far eastern end. See attached photo. No
regrading work is recommended at this time.
REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15
0 Vegetative Cover; Timing:
The inspectors were planning to spend time in the fenced shrub exclosure that was part of the CSU study.
Unfortunately, heavy rain prevented us from spending much time there. It was apparent however, the shrubs
inside the plot continue to thrive and are much larger and more robust than shrubs outside the fenced area.
Revegetation on the areas surrounding the shrub plot is well established and represents a diverse mix of grasses
and forbs. There is a larger presence of sweet clover this year than has been observed in the past.
SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02:
The Seneca II permit boundary is marked with t-posts. Permit boundary signs are on order and will be
installed when they arrive.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED: None
OTHER(SPECIFY)None
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were taken during this inspection and there are no outstanding
enforcement actions.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 3 of 4
