Prince Albert Mine 110(d) Permit Application Exhibit U - EPP <br />EXHIBIT U DMO - ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PLAN <br />The Prince Albert Mine is a uranium mine and thus subject to regulation as a Designated Mining <br />Operation (DMO). Every DMO must include an Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) as part of the <br />permit application. The Environmental Protection Plan for the Prince Albert Mine is designed in <br />accordance with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act and the Mineral Rules and Regulations to <br />help protect both the public and environment from the potential adverse affects of uranium mining. <br />U (1) Environmental Protection Plan Maps <br />Maps depicting the location of storage and handling areas for potential toxic materials; and the land, <br />surface and ground waters which have the potential to be affected by the Prince Albert mining operation, <br />are attached to this plan and referenced in the relevant sections discussing these features. <br />U (2) Other Agency Environmental Protection Measures and Monitoring <br />The following environmental protection measures and monitoring are required for the Prince Albert Mine <br />operation by other agencies. <br />U (2.a) Colorado Stormwater Discharge Permit COR040247 <br />The Stormwater Discharge Permit requires the control and monitoring of surface water associated with <br />stormwater runoff. The controls and monitoring to comply with the discharge permit are detailed in the <br />Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP). A copy of the SWMP for the Prince Albert Mine is included as <br />Exhibit U, Attachment U.8.1 "Prince Albert Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP)." <br />U (2.b) Colorado Air Pollution Emission Notice for Fugitive Dust <br />An air pollution emission notice (APEN), issued by the Colorado Air Quality Control Division, that <br />details the measures taken to control fugitive dust emissions during mining operations on the surface will <br />be required. This permit has not yet been applied for, but the application will be submitted prior to the <br />commencement of mining operations under a 110(d) permit. A copy of the APEN will be forwarded to <br />the DRMS as soon as it is issued by the Air Quality Control Division. <br />U (2.c) Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) Hazard Communication Program and <br />Site Emergency Response Plan <br />The site Hazard Communication Program and Emergency Response Plan includes procedures for the safe <br />handling of hazardous materials and any uncontrolled releases of those materials. A copy of the site <br />emergency response plan is attached as Appendix C, Attachment U.ERP "Prince Albert Emergency <br />Response Plan." <br />U (3) Other Permits and Licenses <br />See Section U (3) above for this information. <br />Rimrock Exploration & Development Page 20 of 39 <br />
