Mr. Rex Fletcher, Corps of Engineers
April 14, 2000
Page Two
water from housing lots will be a minimum of 100 feet wide. It is anticipated that wetland
vegetation would be planted in spring/summer of 2003. The projected completion date for Area
B wetlands would be approximately four (4) years from present.
• Approximately 6.6 acres of existing wetlands, located in the west - southwest area of the property,
will not be disturbed prior to completion of wetland restoration in Areas A and B.
• Area C (approximately 5.7 acres of wetlands) - Wetlands construction will commence at the
completion of mining activities and removal of processing plants at this site. Again, sloping will
be done and vegetation planted as noted for Area A and Area B. The anticipated completion date
for Area C wetlands is approximately seven (7) years from present.
• A total of 18.9 acres of wetlands will be created throughout the course of this project. This is an
increase of 5.3 acres over the 13.6 acres required in the existing permit.
• Per our discussion on April 5, 2000, we would further request amending out Special Condition C
of the existing permit regarding inspections every three years.
CAMAS remains committed to providing enhanced wetland and wildlife habitat after mining is
completed on this property. We appreciate your assistance with design suggestions and your
consideration of allowing CAMAS the additional time necessary to complete this project in a responsible
manner that promotes its ultimate success.
Please use the following contact at CAMAS for this amendment process: Connie Nickle Davis, Support
Services, Aggregate Industries, P. O. Box 3121, Greeley, CO 80633; Telephone: (970) 336 -6526.
Very truly yours,
Connie Nickle Davis
Support Services
and
Curtt L.
