The ground was damp from significant rain over the past week.
The partial coal inspection entailed observation of the site with Don MacDonald and Danny Kipp.
An Ensign rig was drilling a gas well on the pad in Areas 20/21/22/29. A pad is under construction for more
drilling in the area south of the Dugout Pond.
At the B Pit,no equipment was operating at the time of the inspection. Three ash loads had been dumped earlier
(as shown in photograph)and one more came later after we had left the pit area.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05:
CEC records indicated the following rain totals for previous days:
• 0.11 inches on 7/10/11
• 0.07 inches on 7/11/11
• 1.03 inches on 7/12/11
• 0.08 inches on 7/13/11.
Standing water was observed in Sediment Pond 2 and the B Pit(the Dugout Pond was not observed closely
enough to see if it contained standing water). Neither pond was discharging, nor were there signs of any past
discharges.
No problems were observed with the two ponds, the pit,or any other stormwater infrastructure.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 2 of 5
