Please see the attached report from Dr. David Buckner, regarding reference area
grazing.
f) This was addressed in the June 6, 2011 letter from WFC.
g) This information is not necessary to determine comparable management, since
the point of comparison for the reference area and reclaimed areas is at first cutting
in late June. Additionally, monitoring of this information is not required in the
permit.
h) Plant species are discussed in detail in the vegetation reports attached to the
bond release application as well as the bond release application itself.
i) The presence of weeds to a level requiring management would be detailed in the
annual reports covering this part of the mine. Weed management that did take
place is detailed in those annual reports.
j) Fertilizer application has been addressed in the bond release application revised
in May 2011.
k) Sideroll irrigation is inherently more efficient than flood irrigation. However,
flood irrigation is the historical method of irrigation in this area, and since the
reference area is to reflect pre -mine conditions, flood irrigation is used on the
reference area.
Item #5 - See Item #4 discussion on haying of the reclaimed land versus grazing of
the reference area.
{00058185.1 1
