Since this is the basis
for all of the comparisons regarding vegetation in the bond release (revegetation
success, haying vs. grazing, etc.) mapping the locations of farmer cuts is both
redundant and irrelevant for the bond release.
d) All farmers in the Nucla area get at least one cutting out of their irrigated
pasture, and frequently two. Specifics depend on the farmer, and since the first
cutting timing is the comparison point between the reclaimed and reference areas,
second and third cuttings are not documented.
e) Based on the vegetation studies conducted in 2007 through 2010, the following
is the forage available on the reference area (6.8 acres) in each year. As can be
seen, five head of cattle for three months (15 AUM) is the appropriate grazing
pressure for the reference area.
These AUM values were calculated using Dr. Buckner's methodology
According to Dr. David Buckner, one year of grazing (15 AUM) beyond the
forage amount available (11.26 AUM) is unlikely to negatively impact the fields
productivity.
{00058185.1 }
