Paul Banks and Associates, LLC <br />loam that extends to a depth of 60 inches or more. Permeability is moderately rapid, <br />and the available water capacity is high. These soils are moderately alkaline to strongly <br />alkaline. Their root zone extends to a depth of 60 inches or more. Most of these soils <br />are used for grazing. About 20 percent is used for irrigated feed crops. Runoff is slow, <br />and the hazard of water erosion is slight. The soil is subject to frequent, brief flooding. <br />The water table is at a depth of 1.5 to 3 feet. The surface layer is low to high in content <br />of salts.
