PROCESSING WASTE /COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11 ❑ ❑Drainage Control; Surface <br />Stabilization; Placement: <br />A couple of dozers were grading coal waste on gob pile no. 2; one on the west side of the fourth lift and <br />the other on the east side of the third lift. A grader and excavator were sitting idle near the gob pile no. 1 entrance. <br />A dozer was grading the haul road leading to gob pile no. 1. The operator is still doing work on the next to the <br />designed top lift at gob pile no. 4. <br />There did not appear to be any pooling of water on the gob piles. The lower lifts that have been covered with soil <br />material did not show any erosional gullying, cracking or slumping. However, the vegetation cover ranged from <br />poor to moderate. The upland diversion ditch was up along the entire length of the gob pile area. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 ❑ ❑ Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) ❑ ❑Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) ❑ ❑ Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)0 ❑Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The roads around the mine site appeared to be passable, including the paved main haul road, gob pile haul <br />road and light use roads leading to the utility bench and the storage area to the east of the D -seam portal bench. <br />REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15 ❑ ❑Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />The vegetative cover on the various bench outslopes generally was good. <br />SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12: <br />There was no evidence of any slides or other slope stability problems at the site. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />No problems were observed with any of the mine facilities. Material storage areas were well organized. <br />There was a small volume of stockpiled coal on the D -seam portal bench and a moderate volume of stockpiled <br />coal at the coal stockpile bench adjacent to the highway. <br />TOPSOIL — Rule 4.060 ❑ Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; <br />Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />The main topsoil stockpile had a good vegetative cover on it. The vegetation on the south side of the <br />stockpile is beginning to turn a little yellow. The small topsoil stockpile on the west side of the utility bench had a <br />good vegetative cover as well.
