COMMENTS
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
Railcars were being loaded during the inspection but no coal haul trucks were on site. Only a moderate
volume of coal was stockpiled on the facilities bench. There were no signs of any fugitive dust onsite or offsite.
No coal fines were seen on the highway either.

The east side sediment pond had a little water in it.The pond embankment appeared to be stable, as were
the pond inslopes.The pond embankment and pond inslopes had a good vegetative cover.
The west side dugout pond appeared to be dry.
It appears that there had been recent work on the Fire Mountain Canal just north of the loadout since the private
access road along the canal had been disturbed and,possibly,mulched.No erosional problems were observed.
PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11❑[]Drainage Control; Surface
Stabilization; Placement:
A moderately sized pile of processing waste from the crushing, screening and sizing operations was
located adjacent to the east side sediment pond. The processing waste will be permanently stored at the Elk Creek
Mine waste storage area.
