The mining superintendent will notify the General manger of Jubilee Venture and <br />report spills to the appropriate federal, state and local agencies as soon as possible. <br />These include but may not be limited to : <br />National Response Center, in Washington, D.C. <br />Phone (800) 424 -8802 <br />. The mining superintendent will notify all appropriate federal, state and local <br />agencies and must ensure that additional parties or agencies are notified. <br />Additionally, the superintendent is responsible for ensuring all cleanup activities <br />required by a jurisdictional agency are satisfactorily met and provide <br />documentation as to this requirement. <br />19. Land Surface Spills <br />.If a spill should occur during refueling operations, STOP the refueling operation <br />until the spill can be contained and the situation corrected. <br />. The source of the spill must be identified and contained immediately <br />. Designated personnel must excavate the contaminated soil <br />.The spilled material and contaminated soil must be treated and or disposed of <br />in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local agency requirements. <br />. Smaller spills on land shall be cleaned up with absorbent materials utilizing spill <br />kits. <br />. Flowing spills must be contained and or absorbed before reaching tailing or <br />fresh water ponds. <br />. Absorbent materials shall be placed over spills to minimize spreading and <br />reduce penetration into the soil. <br />.Spill Coordinator in conjunction with appropriate agencies shall determine if <br />evacuation is necessary to safeguard human health. Immediate consideration shall be <br />given for the potential of fire, explosion, and hazardous gas. <br />For spills in standing water, sorbent booms and pads shall be on hand and <br />used by authorized personnel to contain and recover released materials. In <br />addition other spill response materials and equipment shall be on hand as <br />appropriate for each water body and used to contain and recover foreseeable <br />spills. <br />20. Jubilee Venture will dispose of contaminated material, petroleum products and other <br />wastes such as motor oil , where there is an established recycling program available. <br />Wastes such as grease and oily rags will be disposed of in accordance with state and <br />local requirements. <br />21. All contaminated soils, absorbent materials and other wastes shall be stored and <br />disposed of by Jubilee Venture in accordance with all applicable state and federal <br />regulations. <br />22. Only licensed carriers may be used to transport contaminated material from the site <br />to a disposal facility. <br />it-s. <br />
