Due to heavy rainfall, <br />erosion of the Phase 5 VLF east slope was observed. Sediment reported to the bottom of the Phase <br />5 PSSA. Ames began remediation and installing temporary erosion controls. <br />AMEC was informed by Ames that nightshift would resume Monday, 8/2/2010. <br />CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES and PROGRESS: <br />II) EARTHWORKS <br />A) Subgrade Preparation <br />1) VLF <br />Fine grading, moisture conditioning, and compaction of subgrade was performed prior to soil <br />liner fill (SLF) placement during the week. The areas inspected and approved for placement <br />are shown on Figure 1. <br />B) Slope Contouring <br />1) VLF <br />Slope contouring was performed between stations G28 +50 ( + / -) and G30 +00 ( + / -), <br />approximately 150 to 175 feet left of centerline and between stations H0 +50 ( + / -) and H7 +50 <br />( + / -), approximately 0 to 150 feet right of centerline. Slope contouring was performed using <br />various CAT dozers and various CAT excavators.
