Slope contouring was performed using <br />various CAT dozers and various CAT excavators. The material generated as the cut progressed <br />was pushed down the slope. <br />D) Overburden to Stockpile <br />1) VLF <br />No work performed during the week. <br />E) Cut to Fill <br />1) VLF <br />A CAT 385 excavator was used to excavate structural fill material J4 +00 ( + / -) and J10 +00 <br />( + / -), approximately 100 feet left of centerline to 100 feet right of centerline. The structural fill <br />material was loaded into CAT 777 haul trucks and hauled to fill areas. <br />Structural fill was placed between stations C0 +00 ( + / -) and C7 +00 ( + / -), approximately 60 feet <br />left of centerline to 60 feet right of centerline and between stations J12 +00 ( + / -) and J19 +00 <br />( + / -), approximately 0 to 75 feet right of centerline. Structural fill was placed in 18" to 24" lifts <br />using various CAT dozers. Each lift was moisture conditioned using a CAT 773 water truck <br />(when necessary) and compacted using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor, passing <br />over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique was applicable). <br />No blast pattern drilling or blasting was performed during the week. <br />F) Soil Liner Fill <br />1) VLF <br />Soil liner fill placement and moisture conditioning continued CAT D -6 dozer with a disk <br />attachment, a John Deere 729 dozer, and a tandem -axle water truck. Areas of in -place SLF <br />with low moisture content were moisture conditioned by "disking" the material and adding <br />moisture. Compaction of the SLF was performed using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum <br />compactor. Nuclear density testing, moisture verification, and depth checks were performed in <br />the geomembrane deployment areas throughout the week. All test results were within project <br />specifications and all test locations were surveyed by Ames. The SLF placement area is shown <br />in Figure 3. <br />G) PSSA Ore Slope Construction <br />Construction of the remaining portion of the PSSA ore slope continued between stations G9 +00 <br />( + / -) and G28 +00 ( + / -), approximately 0 to 225 feet left of centerline using a CAT D -6 LGP dozer <br />and a CAT 279 skid steer loader. Existing ore was pushed over the previously certified secondary <br />geomembrane, constructing the toe of the slope. Geotextile was placed over the geomembrane <br />within three feet of the slope toe. An AMEC field representative observed slope construction <br />constantly. A 10 -ton smooth drum roller was used to compact the surface of the ore slope 2' or <br />more above the geomembrane and a plate compactor was used to compact the remaining portion of <br />the slope. <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 06.05.10.D <br />
