A CAT D -10 dozer and a skid steer loader were used to process the material.
G) Miscellaneous
No work was performed during the week.
III) Underground Workings
A) Drilling /Excavation
No work was performed during the week.
B) Mine Shaft /Stope Remediation
Remediation of Underground Working #3009/ #3010 was completed with the placement of a three -
layer geogrid cap extending 50 feet from each working location. Prior to placement, the subgrade
surface was inspected and accepted by an AMEC field representative. Approximately 19,616
square feet of geogrid was placed and accepted by an AMEC field representative prior to select
structural fill placement. Approximately 470 cubic yards of select structural fill was then placed
over the geogrid in one 6 -inch compacted lifts (over first and second layer) and one 1 -foot
compacted lift (over third layer). Prior to compaction the select structural fill material was
moisture conditioned using a CAT 773 water - truck. Compaction of the select structural fill was
then performed using a 10 -ton smooth drum compactor using the static method. Five nuclear
density tests were performed with results passing. Moisture - density relations were performed in
accordance with ASTM D698 -07.
Remediation of Underground Working #3012 continued backfilling the working with structural
fill. Structural fill was placed in the working using a CAT 345 excavator and the excavator bucket
was used for compaction until the area was safe to use a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor
passing over the entire surface at least four times. The material was moisture conditioned (when
necessary) using a CAT 773 water - truck. When the area was safe, the CAT 345 excavator cleaned
previously placed temporary fill from the remaining portion to the northwest. This section of the
working was inspected by AMEC representatives and the entire working was found to be
competent rock. John Lupo (AMEC Certifying Engineer) made the decision that concrete was not
necessary in this portion of the working. This portion of the working was then backfilled with
VLF Weekly Report WE 04.10.10.D
