This was a complete inspection conducted by Janet Binns of CDRMS. The mine is a reclaimed surface mine
with no remaining mining activity occurring on the site, and no personnel on site. The permit is in the later
stages of a Phase III bond release evaluation. The weather was sporadically rainy and partly sunny during the
inspection. Temperatures in nearby Oak Creek were 55 degrees. The snowpack has melted off the mine site.
The Yampa River basin recorded an unusually high snowpack this winter, with NRCS reports in excess of
200 %.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1):
Records were checked in the Routt County Clerk and Recorder's office. All required records were in place
and up to date. Records list accompanies this report.
FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18:
Wildlife were prevalent throughout the reclaimed mine An individual Porcupine was observed in the
Moffat Pit area, numerous Pronghorn with young were observed throughout. Yellow - bellied Marmots were seen
in considerable numbers throughout the mine Two Llamas were observed in the West Ridge area. One was the
same animal observed in a 2010 inspection. A pair of hawks repeatedly was hunting over the reclaimed Moffat pit
area.
