The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate the on-the-ground
condition with respect to Trapper Mine's mining and environmental protection activities. Graham Roberts of TMI
accompanied the inspection in the field.
The weather was warm and clear. The ground was clear and dry.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
Roads and other activities were not a source of fugitive dust during the inspection. Magnesium Chloride had been
applied to the LOM Road on June 3, 2011,and water trucks were being used during the inspection.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05:
The following ponds were inspected: East Pyeatt#3,Oak#2, East Middle Flume#1,No Name#2,No Name#4,
No Name#5R,Coyote,Deer and Ute. The following ponds were discharging: East Pyeatt#3, East Middle Flume
#1,No Name#2,No Name#4,No Name#5R,and Coyote(small amount seeping through primary spillway).
Deer Pond was completely dry. For all ponds that were discharging the water was clear.
No serious problems were identified with any of the ponds, and only one maintenance item was identified during
the inspection. The banks for No Name#2 are bare and susceptible to erosion. TMI plans to install a fence
around the pond to limit cattle access, and the pond should be monitored for bank stability.
Within two observed channels banks have been significantly eroded and require maintenance: the channel
downstream of East Pyeatt#3 pond and the channel downstream of culvert AE10.
The ditch above the Ash Pit was inspected. No blow outs or other problems were observed. It contained water
from seeps in the watershed to the south.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 10
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 2 of 6
