May Day Idaho Mine Complex 112 (d) Permit Application <br />• Inspection of stope area once access is granted to perform a thorough <br />investigation of water characteristics and the conditions of materials already <br />within the stope; <br />• The maximum tailings moisture content will be limited to less than saturation. <br />• During the milling optimization phase, three tailings samples from initial 5,000 <br />yd3 tailings will be analyzed. The sample will be split. One split will be <br />submitted to a laboratory for analysis of Acid-Base Accounting and SPLP <br />analysis and one split will be archived. <br />• Following the interpretation of results during the milling optimization phase, a <br />sampling and monitoring program will be submitted to the Division for review. <br />• A pond will be located on May Day No. 1 bench to contain spills from the <br />mill or maintenance activities (See Exhibit T-4 for design specifications) <br />6.4.20(15) Construction Schedule Information <br />(a) Designated Chemicals Facilities <br />No specific designated chemical facility will be constructed. Designated chemicals will <br />be stored in either a locked Conex/Zircon container or the locked mill. <br />The following modifications to the storage facilities will be completed prior to Milling <br />Optimization: <br />• Installation of berms around each of the storage facility to contain any spill; and <br />• Installation of a sump within the mill to collect any spill. <br />(b) Acid Mine Drainage Containment Facilities <br />At present, it is not anticipated that any Acid Mine Drainage Containment Facility will be <br />required. If any such containment facility is required following inspection of the <br />proposed disposal area within the underground workings, a Technical Revision will be <br />submitted to the Division. <br />6.4.20(16) Quality Assurance and Quality Control Programs <br />As described in Section 6.4.20(15), no designated chemical facilities will be constructed. <br />Accordingly, no Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program s are required. <br />6.4.20(17) Plant Growth Medium <br />(a) Soil Survey Map <br />A soil survey map is presented in Exhibit C and the components are described in Section <br />I - Soils Information <br />(b) Site Specific Soils Investigation <br />REVISED June 5. 2011 <br />May Day Idaho Mine Complex 112(d) Permit Application <br />September 21, 2010 <br />17 <br />i
