(This question is related to Item 6 of Section 2.04.6(2) <br />in Part 1 of the PAR.) <br />Response - Text added (page 1) to clam, - - handling of weathered and unweathered <br />overburden separately is done routinely and is not considered "special" <br />24. A few typographical errors were note on the following pages of Section 2.05.6(3). On page <br />14 in the last paragraph, the statement "...GW-N8 has recovered aboul0 ft..." needs to be <br />corrected. On page 23 the first sentence of the last paragraph "...these slightly elevated <br />level of TDS..." level should be changed to plural "...levels..." On page 24 in the last <br />sentence of the second paragraph "...will every reach..." should be changed to "...ever <br />reach..." <br />Response - They have been corrected as suggested. <br />25. The Division requests that the surface and ground water monitoring program required under <br />Rules 2.05.6(3)(b)(iv) and 4.05.13, and mentioned on page 6 of Section 2.05.6(3), be <br />described more fully. The revised description should include a list of the monitoring sites, a <br />list of the field and laboratory parameters to be sampled and the sampling frequency. <br />Response - The NHNHYDROLOGIC MONITORING PLAN is included in Appendix <br />2.05.6(3)-3. <br />2.06 - REQUIREMENTS FOR PERMITS FOR SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF MINING <br />2.06.8 Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation Operations on Areas, or Adjacent to Areas, <br />Including Alluvial Valley Floors. <br />1. The application makes reference to an Alluvial Valley Floor study conducted by Peabody <br />Coal Company for the Nucla Mine. The study, done around 1980, has not been provided by <br />the applicant, and attempts by the Division to locate the study have been so far unsuccessful. <br />Please provide an Alluvial Valley Floor Determination, in accordance with the requirements <br />of 2.06.8(3), for the NHN Mine permit application. <br />Response: Pursuant to the direction given to WFC during the February 1, 2011 adequacy <br />review meeting held in Grand Junction, this entire section has been rewritten to address <br />the concerns raised by DRMS as outlined in the document entitled "Checklist for NHN <br />A VF Determination "prepared by Stephanie Reigh.
