amecs
B) Geomembrane Exposure
1) VLF
Previously installed geomembrane was exposed using a John Deere 35D excavator and
laborers between stations E0+00 (+/-) and E4+00 (+/-). The geomembrane was exposed to
allow for new geomembrane to be tied in and was observed by an AMEC field representative.
C) Anchor Trench
1) VLF
No work performed during the week.
D) Geomembrane Acceptance
1) VLF
No geomembrane was accepted during the week.
E) Geomembrane Delivery
1) VLF
Two loads (22 rolls) of 80mil LLDPE single sided textured geomembrane rolls were delivered
to site during the week. The loads were delivered on a flat bed truck in good condition. The
rolls were unloaded using a CAT 950 front-end loader with forks attached. The geomembrane
was placed on three pieces of HDPE pipe, stacked two rolls high. An AMEC field
representative inventoried the geomembrane and was present at all times during unloading of
the geomembrane.
CQA ACTIVITIES:
SUMMARY:
The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction
activities of the contractor.
AMEC observed slope contouring of the Phase 5 VLF slopes, including hauling excess material to a
designated overburden storage area.
AMEC observed compaction of subgrade.
AMEC observed the excavation and construction of the leak detection trench.
AMEC observed the exposure of previously installed geomembrane.
AMEC observed and inventoried geomembrane delivered to site.
Testing Summary
Laboratory testing continued (Particle Size Distribution, Atterberg Limits, Moisture-Density Relations,
Specific Gravity, Permeability, and Point Load testing) for sampled materials.
VLF Weekly Report WE 05.07.2011
