The permit area is located on a bluff overlooking the San Miguel River. Runoff <br />from along the runway either soaks into the ground or flows easterly along the <br />Y runway to drainage that transports the runoff to a berm area adjacent to the <br />existing airport road on the south side of the runway. From here the water flows <br />under the airport runway and thence northeasterly to Deep Creek. Deep Creek is <br />a tributary of the San Miguel River. Historic flow data for the San Miguel River <br />is attached. <br />The airport operation has fenced the runway area to prevent large animals from <br />entering the area for safety purposes. The permit area is inside the fenced runway <br />area and is, therefore, expected not to impact wildlife beyond the existing impact <br />caused by the airport operation. <br />Revised 05/06/11 <br />
