CO DEPT HELTH HAZ MAT Fax:3036399833 Jun 11 2009 8:41 P.05
a3/1 G en I erry - ine um eanu a
From: eventureresourcesoatt.net>
To: Douglas Ikenberry <dougles.ikenberry(Mstate.co.us*, James Lewis,4jiim.lewi...
Date: 5/18/2009 11:10 AM
Subject: Mine Dump Cleanup
Attachments: Venture-Resources-mission rev1(1].doc
Gentlemen,
Venture Resources, Inc. has for the past several years been developing a program to cleanup mine
dumps. This program utilizes the EPA's preferred method of removing heavy metals from the dump
material (reference' Virginia Canyon Reclamation Feasibility Study"). We continue to believe that this is a
superior method when compared to others, le oovering/capping or relocation,.
Our process involves both gravity and flotation methods to remove the heavy metals from the host waste
rock. In doing so, the heavy metals are concentrated, removed and sold as a product to other parties.
This process will be ultimately used to cleanup over 200,000 tons of this material located on our private
property. If this process is as effective as we believe, we envision this as the solution of choice for the
remaining dumps in the area. Using this process, significant costs are recouped through the sale of the
concentrates.
As of late, we have been working with Doug Ikenberry with the Solid Waste Div. of the CDPHE to develop
a solid waste disposal impoundment for our cleaned process tailings. We have mobilized a small
processing mill and are close to completing the tailings impoundment, Upon the completion of a technical
review by the CDPHE and the submittal of a Financial Assurance Instrument for reclamation measures,
we will be ready to immediately begin processing our dumps.
We would like to schedule a meeting at our facility this week with all parties, together or individually (Clear
Creek County, CDPHE Solid Waste, CDPHE Hez. Mat'I, and EPA), to review our progress and discuss
future opportunities to work together to cleanup the prolific sources of acid mine drainage and heavy metal
contamination In the Virginia Canyon vicinity.
Attached you will find our company's Mission Statement. W4 are committed to this as is evidenced by our
substantial Investment of both time and money, as we are certain you will realize upon inspecting our
facility.
Consider our schedule open. Please email me with possible meeting times.
Patrick Maher , President
Venture Resources, Inc.
PO Box 1074
Idaho Springs, CO 80452
P:,(239) 537.1420
F: (303) 484-8389
Please visit us at www.ventureresourOeSine.corn
