Clear Creek County Site Development Department <br />Permit Procedures and Requirements <br />For an Excavation Permit. <br />An excavation that is less than 2 feet (610 mm) in depth, does not create a cut slope greater than 5 <br />feet (1524 mm) in height and steeper than 1 unit vertical in 11/2 units horizontal (66.7% slope) and <br />does not exceed 50 cubic yards, is exempt from this permit. A fill less than 3 feet (914 mm) in <br />depth, not intended to support structures, that does not exceed 50 cubic yards (38.3m3) on any one lot <br />and does not obstruct a drainage course is also exempt from this permit. Except where exempted, no <br />person shall do any excavating without first obtaining an excavation permit from the Site <br />Development Department. <br />Excavation and/or fill involving less than 2,500 cubic yards (1912 m3) and/or 20,000 square <br />feet will not require a Colorado Licensed Engineer's designed plan, unless the Site <br />Development Inspector determines that special conditions or unusual hazards exist, in which <br />case any excavation and/or fill must conform to the requirements of R-0 1-94 section 3, part <br />3.4. The submittals required for this type of permit are as follows: <br />• Completed zoning disclosure form <br />• Completed landowner authorization form (if applicable) <br />• Completed application <br />• Scaled Site Plan showing the following detail: <br />• The nature and extent of the work proposed with reasonable accuracy <br />• Property lines and property corners <br />• The location of any buildings within 15ft of the proposed excavation <br />• Temporary and permanent erosion control devices, and revegetation plans <br />Excavation involving more than 2,500 cubic yards (1912 m3) and/or 20,000 square feet will <br />conform to the requirements of R-99-124 section 3, part 3.4. The submittals required for this <br />type of permit are as follows: <br />• Completed zoning disclosure form <br />• Completed landowner authorization form (if applicable) <br />• Completed application <br />• Scaled site plan <br />• Two sets of plans and specifications with supporting data consisting of a soils <br />engineering report and engineering geology report, and the plans need to show the <br />following detail: <br />• General vicinity of the proposed site <br />• Property lines and property corners <br />• Grading and drainage plan showing existing contours and finish contours at 5 <br />feet intervals, limiting dimensions, drainage channels and existing water <br />courses <br />Detailed plans of all surface and subsurface drainage devices, walls, cribbing, <br />dams, and other protective devices to be constructed with, or as a part of, the <br />proposed work. Also, a map showing the drainage area and the estimated <br />runoff of the area served by any drains <br />
