(All Rite), on leased property in accordance with 37-80-120
C.R.S. The required review fee of $257 for the substitute water supply plan has been received
under receipt no. 3647893. The North River Pit was the subject of the Order of the Division
Engineer dated June 1, 2009. The original plan for the North River Pit was approved on July
28, 1999 for the period through June 30, 2001. For this plan year, replacement water for the
North River Pit's depletions will be provided by shares of the Lower Arkansas Water
Management Association (LAWMA) for the period January 1, 2011 through March 31, 2011 and
from Arkansas Groundwater Users Association (AGUA) for the period April 1, 2011 through
December 31, 2011. The gravel pit is permitted under Well Permit No. 52701-F and is located
in portions of the SW1/4 Section 36, T23S, R55W and NE1/4 Section 1, T248, R55W.
Water Uses
The total water surface area for the two ponds at the site is about 7.85 acres. Based on
a net annual evaporation of 4.02 feet from LAWMA's decree in Case No. 02CW181, the
evaporation from the 7.85 acre area totals 31.56 acre-feet annually. The annual mine
production of 504000 tons from the original plan is proposed, which results in a product moisture
consumption of 1.5 acre-feet per year. The total water requirement for dust suppression is 2.00
acre-feet per year. Pumping from the pit for dust suppression is planned and is allowed under
Permit No. 52701-F. In total, the consumptive use associated with the gravel pit will total 35.06
acre-feet, of which 2.00 acre-feet will be used for dust suppression, 1.5 acre-feet will be hauled
away as product moisture, and 31.56 acre-feet will evaporate from the pit's water surface.
Office of the tate Engineer
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303-866-3581 • Fax: 303-866-3589
http://water.state.co.us
