a 0/0, OT <br />REGEIVED <br />JUBILEE VENTURE, LLC APR 12 2011 <br />EAGLE MINE PROJECT WATER REQUIREMENTS IA?TT0.ETRECE?SvNEERS <br />The Jubilee Venture, LLC Eagle Mine Project is a proposed gold placer mining <br />operation in the NEI A of Sec. 2, T. 10 N., R. 92 W., 6a' PM in the northern part of <br />Moffat County, Colorado. This is in Colorado Div. of Water Resources District 54, an <br />underappropriated district. The milling of the placer material will be done in a gravity <br />plant employing plain water as the transporting agent for the ore as it passes through the <br />plant. The proposed 200 ton per day mill will require 240,000 gallons (0.66 acre feet) of <br />water per day, the water to be supplied from a 75 ft. deep well on the site. None of the <br />water will actually be consumed except for evaporation losses. The remainder will be <br />returned to the water table or be recirculated in the plant water system. The total used <br />(not consumed) in a 180 day seasonal operation (May through October) will be <br />approximately 132 acre feet. <br />EVAPORATION <br />There are several charts and tables used to project water pan evaporation that show <br />that it will be 37 inches during the 180 day season. The literature I have researched <br />indicates the pan evaporation is as good a factor as any to apply in industrial operations. <br />The tilling of soil doesn't apply here. <br />The sources for evaporation are as follows: <br />Water storage pond surface - 40' X 60'= 2400 ft2 <br />Mill tailings pond surface - 20' X 32'= 640 ft2 <br />Plant open surfaces (sluice boxes, vibrating table, etc.) 720 ft2 <br />Tailings stockpile surface (tailings removed from pond and stacked) 1966 ft2 <br />Water for dust control on roads -1000 gallons per day <br />At 37" per 180 day period the water storage pond will evaporate 0.17 acre ft. <br />Tailings pond (180 days) 0.05 acre ft. <br />Plant open surfaces (180 days) 0.05 acre ft. <br />Tailings stock pile 0.14 acre & <br />Water for dust control (1000 gpd for 180 days) 0.21 acre ft. <br />Total water evaporated per 180 day period 0.62 acre fl. <br />WATER SEEPAGE <br />Water seepage back into the ground will occur in the unlined tailings pond and under <br />the wet tailings storage where the tailings drain either into the pond or back into the <br />ground but it is difficult to say how much will go to either place. The drained tailings are <br />then hauled back into mined out areas as backfill. Because this will be an ongoing <br />process, it is almost impossible to estimate how much evaporation will occur off of the <br />backfilled tailings. There will be some but most will probably drain back into the <br />ground. <br />There are 1680 f12 of wetted surface in the tailings pond which should soak up 0.7 <br />gpolft2 or 1176 gallons per day. Over 180 days that amounts to 4.9 acre fl. The ground <br />under the tailings pile or tailings storage should soak up 1163 gpd or 4.81 _ acre ft. per 180 <br />'4 2_/1
