The containment areas <br />will be designed as follows: <br />• The secondary containment areas will be designed to contain 110% of the contents of the <br />largest single tank (or interconnected tanks operating together) plus sufficient freeboard <br />to allow for precipitation. Drainage procedures are outlined in Section 12 - Facility <br />Drainage. <br />• The dike walls and floor will be fully intact and have no permeable voids. <br />• Storage area containment dimensions, volumetric capacities and materials of construction <br />are detailed for each location in Appendix 5. <br />• Materials shall not be stored within the secondary containment if they adversely impact <br />the capacity of the secondary containment system. <br />13.3 Oil and Chemical Product Storage <br />Sites for storing oil and chemical product are designated at two East RDD Project sites: <br />1. East RDD Tank Battery area (within secondary containment). <br />2. East RDD chemical rack area. <br />All oily fluid product containers with a shell capacity of 55 gallons or more are to be stored <br />within designed secondary containment at these sites. <br />Chemical products are to be stored safely with appropriate containment, i.e. only compatible <br />chemical products in the same containment area. <br />Printed: April 7, 2011 T Section 13 Page 42 of 71 <br />The controlled version of this "controlling document" resides online in Livelink®.
