drill a 38 inch diameter hole for the upper 40 feet of the well and a 29 inch diameter hole for
depths between 40 and 200 feet. The hole will be cased and will have a screened interval in the
bottom from 165 to 200 feet in order to facilitate pumping. This auxiliary hole and caisson will
be constructed near the existing battery of four caissons, as indicated on the enclosed plan view
drawing of the proposed location in Phase I PSSA. The top elevation of the caisson will be 9511
feet, there will be 200 feet of casing, and the liner rests at 9300 feet in this location. Therefore,
the bottom of the well installation will rest eleven feet above the liner.
A spare 250 hp submersible pump will be utilized in the event of an emergency situation. Since
this pump installation is an upgrade of existing facilities no additional land disturbance is
anticipated.
A drawing is enclosed to reflect the proposed location of the new caisson for pump #299.
The electrical infrastructure will be improved to allow for the simultaneous operation of four
pumps, if necessary. A new 15' x 24' building will be constructed to enclose the associated and
enlarged motor control center ("MCC").
CC&V has reviewed the proposed TR 60 changes for impacts to the financial warranty
calculations. Adjustments to the financial warranty for demolition of the MCC building can be
calculated as follows: (15'W x 24'L x 14'H) x ($0.33/cu ft as given in Means Heavy
Construction Cost Data for 2010, p. 33) = $1,663. Applying the estimated TR 60 amount
($1,663) to CC&V's current surplus warranty ($254,262) leaves an unallocated bond in the
amount of $252,599.
The water balance is not impacted by TR-60 since maximum flow rates will not be changed.
A check in the amount of $1,006 for this technical revision request is attached.
Please contact me at (719)-689-4055 should you have questions or wish to discuss this request
for a technical revision.
Sincerely,
1 v?tivw?.. ?g -
Timm Comer
Manager, Environmental Resources
xc: Sheryl Decker, Acting Teller County Planning Director
Byron Hakes, Mayor, City of Victor
Enclosed in triplicate: Plan view of the proposed location of #299
