2.04.712)
• (b)(i) Wickson Draw, Long Draw and Center Creek are
tributary to Broad Creek and are sll ephemeral streams. Flows
measured during 1988 included a small flow during spring snowmelt
in March and a flow caused by a significant precipitation event
during October. The maximum flows measured during the year in
these three streams occurred during the October precipitation
event and are as follows:
Location Maximum Flow Location
Wickson Draw 3.5 Lower Monitoring Station
Long Draw 8.5 Lower Monitoring Station
Center Creek 3.5 Upper Monitoring Station
Section 33 Creek is tributary to Naturita
Creek and is also an ephemeral stream. During 1988 a maximum
flow of 1.75 cfs was measured during the October precipitation
event. During 1989 two minor flows of 3.5 and 1.5 gpm were
recorded during spring snowmelt.
Bramiers Draw, the ephemeral stream to the
west of the permit area is tributary to the San Miguel River.
The applicant attempted to collect water samples from this stream
during the October 1988 precipitation event but was unsuccessful
because flows had ceased by the time the technician arrived at
the monitoring locations. The same problem occurred during
• spring snowmelt during 1989. The quality of the flow in Bramiers
Draw would probably be similar to that measured in the other
drainages to the east of the permit area. Obviously the flows
that occurred during 1988 and 1989 were not significant and were
of limited duration.
Naturita Creek is the receiving stream for
the drainages to the east of the permit area. This creek typi-
cally flows year round except during very dry years. During 1988
and 1989 when the applicant collected baseline information, Natu-
rita Creek flowed during the entire year. Measured flows varied
from a high of 15.5 cfs measured at the lower monitoring station
during spring run-off during 1968, to a low of 3 cfs measured in
January of 1989. During 1990 Naturita Creek flowed intermittent-
ly.
• 2.04-15
