I
Rule 4.05.4 - Stream Channel Reconstruction
12. Response Partially Accepted. Please add the flow direction arrows to the terrace benches
on Map 41A as per the map legend.
Response. Flow direction arrows have been added to terrace benches on Map 41A as
requested.
Rule 4.09.2 - Excess Spoil
12. Response Partially Accepted. Colowyo has updated all of the typographical errors on
page South Taylor/Lower Wilson-Rule 4, Page 20 that were noted in questions a-d. There
is, however, a problem with page South Taylor/Lower Wilson-Rule 4, Page 20. Page 20
does not flow correctly from page 19. The end of page 19 and the beginning of page 20
both have Rule 4.06 - Topsoil on them. Please fix either page 19 or page 20.
Response: Page 19 has been corrected and provided as requested.
New AdegggU Questions Based on Colowyo's 1 Tune 2010 Responses
35. Response not accepted. The Division did not ask that small "V's"
be added to each contour line where each tributary crosses a contour line. The Division's
issue is that Tributary ditches B, D, E, G, and H do not appear to be topographically
controlled by the post-mining topography. Further discussion of each problematic
tributary is proved as follows.
a. Tributary ditch B empties onto the undisturbed area on the side of the ridge and
was not present in the pre-mining topography. Please review this tributary ditch
and make corrections as necessary.
b. Tributary D appears to need moved to the west and the 8050 foot PMT contour
should loop back further into the disturbed area. Please revise this tributary ditch
and make corrections as necessary.
c. Tributary E empties into no apparent existing channel and appears to be
unnecessary as no drainage was present in the pre-mining topography. Please
review this tributary ditch and make corrections as necessary.
d. Tributary G appears to be misaligned based on the post-mining topography and/or
may need an additional branch to the west. Please review this tributary ditch and
make corrections as necessary.
e. Tributary H appears misaligned to the east due to the flat 7900 foot contour bench.
Please review this tributary ditch and make corrections as necessary.
Response. In Colowyo's previous response, it was stated that all of the channels A though I
were sited to route reclaimed area runoff into natural channel segments directly
below (downstream of) the PMT tie-in boundary. Pursuant to this more detailed
comment No. 35, some ditch alignments on Map 41141A and some of the post-
mining topography in this area have been revised. However, the function of the
ditches and the intent of the original alignment selection remain unchanged.
