Phone Conversation with George Robinson on April 6, 2011 I 2
CN-01, May Day Idaho Mine Complex, M-1981-185
as part of CN-01. DRMS previously approved such proposal in the original permit
application for Idaho Mill, M-2006-069, which was approved but never issued and
ultimately withdrawn by Wildcat.
3. Regarding the location of an appropriate Point of Compliance (POC) for verification of
compliance with ground water regulations, Mr. Robinson proposed that DRMS assist in
determining such location.
DRMS responded that the existing data was insufficient to determine an appropriate
location for a POC. DRMS clarified that the Applicant must propose a POC for DRMS
review and approval. DRMS reiterated that such proposal must include sufficient data
to demonstrate an appropriate POC.
4. Regarding a potential hydrologic connection between surface flow of Little Deadwood
Gulch and the discharge at the pre-law and collapsed Idaho Adit, Mr. Robinson
proposed a tracer study.
DRMS staff indicated that such proposal would be considered but made no
commitments to accept or reject such proposal, if and when it was officially presented
as part of CN-01. DRMS did not encourage or discourage the tracer study. However,
DRMS cautioned Mr. Robinson on misinterpretation of a tracer study.
DRMS had previously scheduled a meeting with Wildcat Mining Corporation, to occur April 8,
2011. The April 6 meeting did not alter the scheduling of the meeting for April 8
t" t"
