• Section 780.21(b) Continued. <br />The one temporary overburden stockpile presently located within the <br />permit area will be maintained with proper sediment and drainage <br />control structures so that surface water quality is not adversely <br />affected and so that the structural stability of the stockpile is <br />preserved. The location of ,the stockpile is shown on Map 28, Kerr <br />Mine Area Existing Structures. Drainage control with respect to the <br />temporary stockpile, is shown on Map 16a, Kerr Mine Area Surface <br />Water Hydrology. The design specifications for the diversion ditches <br />are set forth in Exhibit 42, Drainage and Sediment Control Plan, and <br />Table 60, Temporary Diversion Structure Specifications. <br />Sediment Control. <br />The final method for protection and control of surface water quality <br />will be the construction and maintenance of properly designed <br />sedimentation ponds and auxiliary features such as diversion ditches, <br />spillways, energy dissipating discharge structures, stabilization <br />practices and sideslope protection. <br /> <br />780-97R <br />Revised -January, 1991 <br />
