CM0001502 <br />STAFF REPORT: Climax Mine File No. 1041-0072 <br />BoCC Hearing Date: June 24, 2008 <br />.7 <br />The system is a private system designed to meet the industrial needs of the Climax Mine. The system is <br />not intended to service any current or future development, and therefore create no burden on the capacity <br />or demand for local government services. In addition, this project will not affect the amount of water <br />available for storage in, or release from, Eagle Park Reservoir or future water supply in the County. <br />[+] FINDING: (8) Service Capacity. The Project WILL NOT have a significant adverse effect on the <br />capability of local governments affected by the Project to provide services, or exceed the capacity of <br />service delivery systems it exceed the capacity of service delivery systems. <br />(9) The Project will not create an undue financial burden on existing or future residents of <br />the County. <br />As a private industrial water system, the Project will not create an undue financial burden on existing or <br />future residents of the County. <br />[+] FINDING: (9) Financial Burden, the Project WILL NOT create an undue financial burden on <br />existing or future residents of the County. <br />(10) The Project will not significantly degrade any current or foreseeable future sector of the <br />local economy. <br />?J <br />The Project will have no negative impact or adverse effect on the local economy, the use of land, or <br />opportunities for economic diversification. <br />[+] FINDING: (10) Protection of local economy. The project WILL NOT significantly degrade any <br />current or foreseeable future sector of the local economy. <br />(11) The Project will not have a significant adverse effect on the quality or quantity of <br />recreational opportunities and experience. <br />The Project will be located within an existing industrial complex and will not have a significant adverse <br />effect on the quality or quantity of recreational opportunities and experience in the County. <br />[+] FINDING: (11) Protection of recreational opportunities. The Project WILL NOT have a <br />significant adverse effect on the quality of public recreational opportunities and experience. <br />(12) The planning, design and operation of the Project shall reflect principals of resource <br />conservation, energy efficiency and recycling or reuse. <br />As described in the additional submittal requirements of the application, the primary objective of the <br />Project is to facilitate the efficient reuse and recycling of water within the Climax Mine water <br />• <br />Staff Report Date: 06.24.08 <br />Eagle County Community Development <br />Page 5 of 11 <br />
