Permit Amendment (AM-06) - Climax Mine <br />CM0000076 <br />¦ E and F Dump Runoff and Seepage <br />¦ McNulty OSF Runoff and Seepage <br />¦ Robinson Dam Seepage <br />¦ 1 Dam Seepage <br />¦ 3 Dam Seepage <br />¦ 4 Dam Seepage (Eagle Park Reservoir) <br />¦ 5 Dam Seepage <br />G-2.4 Process Water Handling Systems <br />As shown on Figure AM-06-G-01, an extensive system of process water collection, conveyance, and <br />treatment facilities have been developed at the Climax Mine. The purpose of these facilities is to provide for <br />compliance with NPDES discharge permit requirements. A schematic representation of the system is shown <br />on Figure AM-06-G-08. The following paragraphs provide a brief description of the process water handling <br />systems currently in operation at the site. <br />G-2.4.1 5-Shaft Pump System <br />The 5-Shaft Pump System consists of a pump station that withdraws impacted water from the underground <br />mine and a pipeline that conveys this water to the Tenmile Creek basin for treatment and discharge. The 5- <br />Shaft Pump System is operated to maintain underground water levels well below the level of the apex of the <br />Mosquito Fault. <br />G-2.4.2 Storke Wastewater Pump System <br />The Storke Wastewater Pump System consists of a seepage collection system in the Storke Area, a pump <br />station and a pipeline that conveys this water to the Tenmile Creek basin for treatment and discharge. <br />G-2.4.3 4 Dam Seepwater Pump System <br />The 4 Dam Seepwater Pump System consists of a seepage collection system at the toe of 4 Dam (Eagle Park <br />Dam), a pump station and a pipeline that conveys this water to Robinson Lake. <br />G-2.4.4 Robinson Lake Seepwater Pump System <br />The Robinson Lake Seepwater Pump System consists of a seepage collection system near the toe of <br />Robinson Dam, a pump station and a pipeline that conveys this water to Robinson Lake. <br />G-2.4.5 Robinson Lake Barge System <br />The Robinson Lake Barge System consists of a floating pump in the water pool of Robinson Lake and a <br />pipeline that conveys water from the Robinson Lake water pool to Warren's Pump Station. <br />G-2.4.6 Warren's Pump System <br />The Warren's Pump System consists of a seepage collection system along the toe of 1 Dam, a pump station <br />and a pipeline that conveys this water to the Tenmile Creek basin for treatment and discharge. <br />G-2.4.7 Tenmile Tunnel <br />The Tenmile Tunnel is a water conveyance structure that runs from the west abutment of 3 Dam on the north <br />to Robinson Lake on the south. There is a vertical decant inlet into the tunnel from the water pool on the west <br />side of Tenmile TSF.
