F) Peeler Gravelly Sandy Loam -- Representative Profile <br />01 - 2 inches to 1; undecomposed organic material. <br />02 - 1 inches to 0, partly decomposed plant material. <br />A21 - 0 to 5 inches, light brownish gray (10YR 6/2) gravelly <br />sandy loam; dark brown (10YR 4/3) moist; moderate to strong <br />granular structure; soft when dry, very friable when moist; <br />brittle and vesicular; 15 percent pebbles; pH 6.2; gradual <br />wavy boundary. <br />A22 - 5 to 14 inches, pale brown (lOYR 6/3) gravelly sandy loam, <br />dark brown (10YR 4/3) moist; moderate fine granular <br />structure; soft when dry, very friable when moist; brittle <br />and vesicular; 15 percent pebbles; pH 6.2; gradual wavy <br />boundary. <br />A&B - 14 to 26 inches; pale brown (lOYR 6/3) gravelly sandy loam, <br />dark brown (10YR 4/3) moist; moderate fine subangular blocky <br />structure that parts to moderate fine granular; soft when <br />dry, very friable when moist; a few nodules and seams of <br />material similar to material in the B2t horizon and embedded <br />in a matrix of material similar to material to the overlying <br />A2 horizon; 15 percent pebbles; pH 6.3; gradual wavy <br />boundary. <br />B&A - 26 to 36 inches; variegated pale brown (10YR 6/3) and brown <br />(7.5YR 5/4) gravelly sandy loam, dark brown (IOYR 4/3) and <br />brown (7.5YR 4/3) moist; moderate fine subangular blocky <br />structure; slightly hard when dry, very friable when moist; <br />has material in horizon similar to material in the overlying <br />A2 horizon embedded in material similar to underlying B2t <br />horizon; 15 percent pebbles; few clay films and seams; pH <br />6.4; gradual wavy boundary. <br />B21t - 36 to 47 inches; brown (7.5YR 5/4) gravelly light sandy <br />clay loam; dark brown (7.5YR 4/4) moist; moderate fine <br />subangular blocky structure; hard when dry, very friable <br />when moist; common thin nearly continuous clay films on peds <br />and sand grains; some tonguing of material from the A2 <br />horizon into the upper 2 to 3 inches of this horizon; 25 <br />percent pebbles; pH 6.4; gradual wavy boundary. <br />B22t - 47 to 60 inches; brown (7.5YR 5/4) gravelly sandy clay <br />loam; dark brown (7.5YR 4/4) moist; moderate fine subangular <br />blocky structure; hard when dry, very friable when moist; <br />common thin nearly continuous clay films on peds and <br />pebbles; 25 percent pebbles; pH 6.6. <br />There is an Al horizon in places.
