(SdF) Schofield Gravelly Sandy Loam -- Representative Profile <br />01 - 2 inches to 1; undecomposed organic material. <br />02 - 1 inches to 0, partly decomposed plant material. <br />- A2 - 0 to 8 inches, light brownish gray (IOYR 6/2) gravelly sandy <br />loam; grayish brown (IOYR 5/2) moist; moderate to strong <br />granular structure; soft when dry, very friable when moist; <br />- vesicular; 15 percent angular pebbles; pH 6.2; gradual wavy <br />boundary. <br />A&B - 8 to 16 inches, pale brown (IOYR 6/3) gravelly sandy loam, <br />dark brown (IOYR 4/3) moist; weak to moderate fine <br />subangular blocky structure that parts to moderate fine <br />granular; very hard when dry, very friable when moist; <br />nodules and seams of platy material similar to material in <br />the underlying horizon embedded in a matrix of material <br />similar to material in the overlying A2 horizon; 20 percent <br />angular pebbles; pH 6.3; gradual wavy boundary. <br />B2t - 16 to 32 inches; brown (7.5YR 5/4) gravelly coarse sandy <br />_ clay loam, dark brown (7.5YR 4/4) moist; moderate fine <br />subangular blocky structure; extremely hard when dry, very <br />friable when moist; common thin continuous clay films on <br />peds; clay coatings on sand grains and pebbles; 25 percent <br />fine angular pebbles; pH 6.6; abrupt smooth boundary. <br />ITR - 32 to 37 inches, parent material. <br />Depth to bedrock ranges from 20 to 40 inches.
