44.03 ROADS <br />4.03.3 Light-Use Roads. <br />• ? (3) Ca) (iii) The stretches-of 20% grade are shorter than <br />1,000 consecutive feet. <br />(b) The light-use roads meander [o minimize disturbance of <br />environmental values, and to maintain acceptable <br />grades. <br />(c) Sidecast construction has and if required, would be <br />used. <br />(d) Road embankments have been undertaken c.~here necessary <br />[o control erosion and maintain [he road. <br />(e) Topsoil has and will be removed and stockpiled for pro- <br />per vegetation. C1•'I would no[ salvage topsoil from the <br />OV[;M shaft road and would seed it with grass and forb <br />species from CM'I's approved permanent seed mixture. <br />Vehicle access other [h an wide-tire, all-terrain vehi- <br />cles, would he restricted until vegetation was well es- <br />tablished and fan moniCOring requirements were re- <br />duced. <br />(f) Vegetation was and will be cleared only wide enough to <br />serve traffic and utility needs. <br />(4) (a) (i) The existing roads utilize fords as stated in <br />Section 4.03.3(2)(c). These fords are pre-ex- <br />• <br />isting and do no[ disturb the hydrologic bal- <br />ance. CWI does no[ anticipate addiCional con- <br />struction of light-use roads with fords. If <br />required, construction wrould adhere to <br />4.03.3(4). <br />(ii) Sediment control for ail new light-use roads <br />will comply with Sections 4.05.2 and 4.05.5. <br />(b) If culverts and/or bridges were required, CUI would ad- <br />here [o Section 4/03/3 (4)(b) in the construction of new <br />light use roads. <br />(c) Cl.'I s•ould install ditches, cross drains, and culverts <br />as necessary to control erosion on any new light-use <br />roads. <br />(d) 12o natural c}~annel drainagewav would be altered or re- <br />located for The construction of a light-use road. <br />(e) If. stream crossings were reouired, flow or gradient of <br />rile stream, fish migration, aquatic habitat nr related <br />environmental values would noC be affected.
