2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES - <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS. <br />The R-O-M coal will be stockpiled at the site until it is <br />determined it is not a saleable product or is sold. In the <br />event it is determined the coal is not saleable, the material <br />will be hauled to an approved waste pile. The Operator has sold <br />or removed nearly 32,000 tons of this R-O-M coal during the last <br />two years. Efforts remain to find an alternate use for the <br />remaining 17,000 tons of R-O-M coal. <br />(4) See Existing Structures - Sedimentation Ponds and Diversion Channel, <br />Section 2.05.3(3)(b), and Maps BA-1 through 5 and 8A-7A through C, and <br />Section 2.05.3(4)(a). <br />(a) See 2.05.3(3)(b). The general plan and detailed design plan for <br />the sedimentation pond for the East Mine is contained in Section <br />2.05.3 (b) and sheet 6 of the Orchard Valley West Portals <br />Designs, Volume 6. The detailed design plan for the Reclaimed <br />West Mine Sediment Ponds is presented in Volume BA. <br />(i) -Each General Plan shall: <br />(A) The maps, plans and cross sections for the East Mine <br />ponds, impoundments and diversions required under <br />Colorado Rules and'Regulations were prepared by or <br />under the direction of and certified by Matthew <br />Sakurada, P.E., a qualified professional engineer <br />with engineering experience in the design and <br />construction of sedimentation ponds, excess spoil <br />and underground development waste facilities. Mr. <br />Sakurada holds a B.S. and M.E. in Civil Engineering <br />and is registered in the State of Colorado, P.E. <br />Number 15836. Mr. Sakurada was assisted by Charles <br />Leaf, PhD., P.E., a consulting hydrologic engineer, <br />and Geo-Hydro Consulting, Inc. <br />The West Mine maps, plans and cross-sections <br />required under Colorado rules and regulations wre <br />prepared by or under the direction of Graeme Major <br />P.E., a consulting engineer with Golder Associates. <br />The construction of the sedimentation ponds was <br />supervised and inspected by Matthew Sakurada, P.E. <br />The reclaimed West Mine maps, plans and cross- <br />sections were prepared by or under the direction of <br />James E. Stover, State of Colorado, P.E. Number <br />19230. <br />I• <br />(B) See Maps 8A-1 through 8 and BA-16 through 18 in the <br />Ponds, Impoundments, and Dams Appendix in Volume 8A <br />and the Waste Disposal Appendix in Volume 6A.
