Jared Dains Page 4
South Platte Combined Replacement Plan
March 21, 2011
The East 8th Street Pit was not mined last year as planned and Aggregate does not
anticipate to actively mine the site in 2010. Due to lack of mining activity the dewatering ceased
after February 2009, therefore the water use at the East 8th Street Pit in 2010 will include post
pumping dewatering depletions and evaporation from exposed ground water. The exposed surface
area at the East 8th Street has been updated to 5.8 acres.
Mining at the Tucson Pit is complete and reclamation is in progress. The SEO approved the
liner for this pit (Rogers Reservoir) on June 18, 2010. The previous SWSP anticipated that there
would be a post-dewatering fill of the pit which would cause depletions to the river. However, due to
the liner the post-dewatering fill did not occur. Water use at this site in 2011 will include evaporation
from exposed ground water in a small pond of approximately 2 acres located south of the lined pit
and dust control.
The final reclamation plan for each site, the bond amount and the water commitment to
replace depletions in the event that the operator ceases dewatering and walks away from the site is
shown in Table 3 below.
Table 3

Site Name
DMG # Proposed Final
Reclamation Bond
Amount
Ditch Rights Committed/Comments
Teti Pit M-99-090 ground water Lake $77,600 2007CW198-pending

North Dahlia Pit
M-94-093
lined reservoir
$744,000 Aggregate backfilled a portion, a small
groundwater lake remaining on the site that
will be covered b 2007CW198- endin
Jeronimus Pit M-75-039 backfilled $32,500 none
Hazeltine Pit M-04-031 lined reservoir $670,602 none
Brighton Pit M-77-436 lined reservoir $1,579,400 none
Tucson South Pit M-04-044 lined reservoir $11,000 none
Tucson Pit M-91-140 lined reservoir $811,000 none
Wattenberg Pit M-01-008 lined reservoir $3,617,200 Westminster 1998 Lease (294.79 ac-ft)
Platte Valley Pit M-89-120 backfilled $754,732 none
Distel Pit M-89-029 ground water Lake $1,483,800 52.5% Coffin & Davis Ditch (172.2 ac-ft CU)
Tull Pit M-94-027 ground water Lake $350,775 1 Share Smith & Emmons Ditch (61.1 ac-ft)
W.W. The April 30, 2010 letter from DRMS
requires that you provide information to DRMS to demonstrate you can replace long term
injurious stream depletions that result from mining related exposure of ground water. The
DRMS letter identifies four approaches to satisfy this requirement.
