The MLRD has recommended establishment and monitoring of revegetation test
plots as a means of demonstrating revegetation suitability of refuse
materials. If the results of site specific vegetative studies indicate
favorable revegetation success with reduced cover depths, the soil
replacement plans may be modified accordingly with MLRD approval.
Topsoil will be rough graded using either a tracked dozer or motor grader
to maintain uniform replacement depths. Topsoil replacement will
typically be scheduled for late summer or early fall to coincide with
subsequent fall seeding.
Following topsoil replacement, topsoiled areas will be reseeded using the
revegetation seed mix and methods described in Section 2.05.4, Reclamation
Plan. Areas to be revegetated will be prepared by disking and harrowing
REVTfl15.flEV
11/15/9311em 2.05.3-36Ra Revised November 1993
