The weather was cool, with high clouds <br />present. I checked in at the scale office, and was provided with safety training and a 2012 sticker <br />for my hard hat. Most of the mine's employees, including Jim Jarvis and Tom Bird, were <br />attending annual refresher training, so the inspection consisted of a self - guided walking tour of <br />the surface facilities at King II and a brief vehicle tour of King L The mine was not in operation, <br />but over - the -road haul trucks were being loaded with coal. <br />AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION — Rule 4.17: <br />+ The mine was not in operation at the time of the inspection, due to employee training. <br />• Roads within the permit area had been treated with Mag Chloride as a dust palliative. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING — Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall <br />Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials <br />4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br />• Development waste from King II continues to be stockpiled at King I for backfilling the area <br />(Photo 1).
