Exhibit E, Reclamation Plan,6.4.
Under this';section :the operator states, "the Division released the-bond on the site in the current
condition in 2006 with no vegetation of the outcrop.:Krauth Co, Inc intends to reclaim to current Division
approved standards. The mine. areas will be reclaimed to rangeland, blending with surrounding areas,
but, leaving the outcrop, as a natural bedrocks surface and ;benches. ,Revegetation will occur only in the
.eve nt-a vegetated area is disturbed during mining: Benches will not be vegetated. Final grade w
with;surrounding topography and restore historic water flow. Revegetation of vegetated areas will '
follow the 1997 Fremont Soil Conservation District recommendation.
The Division does-not have a set reclamation standard, for a.permit application. It is the applicant that
' submits the'proposed reclamation plan for a,site based on the post mining land use., When necessary,
the. Division may recommend additional reclamation measures to make sure the land is reclai(71ed to'the
approved post mining land use. As noted during the pre operational inspection; the site was released in
2006, as observed.during the inspection on 2/15/11; with minimum reclamation of the affected areas by
the previous operator.
However; in order to properly.calculate the required warranty for the site, the Division will need to
know how much°of"the area will be vegetated, as recommended by the FremontSoil,Conservation
District, with 6-8 inches of growth, medium if available. Please provide an estimate of the affected area.
that will be vegetated. In addition, please discuss in some detail, how the planned high wall and.benches
will be constructedusing approximate if not exact dimensions. What happens if the depth of.the
sandstone. outcrop exceeds"20.feet? The Division understands the.difficulty of obtaining.exact<numbers
for such a,:deposit, however in o.rderto approximate the cost, the operator will.need.to,provide
additional conservative estimates.
Exhibit G. Water Information 6:4.7
No ground, waterWill be exposed. Most of the surface runoff in the area occurs„ as overland flow to the
natural dra nages.'Operator"plansto apply and obtain a storm water best management: practice. permit
from. the Colorado. Department of Health and Environment water quality control Division.
Given the lack of adequate material to construct berms along the dry"gulches, as part of the best
management practice, the Division recommends operator to utilize the sand stone slabs as berms as
discussed during the pre operational inspection. This will limit the amount.of sheet flow drainage from.
affected area, impacting;the dry gulches, noted during the inspection.'
Exhibits H I.
