Application was submitted on January 24, 2011. The edcio:n <br />date is April 24, 2Q11. <br />General: <br />The application proposes to re-permit some of the old permit and affected`areas that were covered <br />under permit # M-1998-0301`& J Stone Pit # 1.The current:application proposes to permit 35:05 acres <br />and use the previous site name for the permit. The proposed maximum affected area, under the current <br />application` will not exceed 5acres, at any.given time. All of the previously affected areas, covered under <br />the previous permit, are now with in the current proposed permit boundary. The initial targeted deposit <br />is a 'sandstone outcrop, approximately 20 feet deep. On August 1, 2006, after inspecting the previously <br />permitted and affected. areas; the Division released permit # M-1998-030 J & J Stone Pit # 1, from <br />further reclamation responsibility. <br />When the site was inspected on 2/5/11, as part of the pre -operational inspection requirement, the <br />Division verified the conditions of the site. Very little if any reclamation work was conducted on site, <br />that was already affected pre-law before it was released. Fragments of sand stone slabs were noted <br />scattered throughout the previously pre law affected areas. <br />Exhibits. A. B &C Adeauate <br />Exhibit D. Mining Plan 6.4.4 <br />The operator, proposes to utilize rubber tired skidsteer or rubber tired excavator to remove the <br />sandstone: slabs. No explosives will be used to remove the sandstone. No mining will occur inside the dry <br />gulch (ravine) channel. The,,initial affected area is estimated at 4.1 acres, as delineated in Exhibit C. The <br />mine high wall will not to, exceed 10 feet with 8 feet wide benches, along the east wall of the mine.. It is <br />stated in the application, "additional mining area is expected to be dependent upon the exposed <br />sandstone,character"., <br />Prior to exposing additional, areas to mining, the operator must submita_technical revision to the permit <br />and obtain written. approval from the Division. <br />Office of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver Grand Junction Durango Active and Inactive Mines. <br />STATE OF COLORADO
