• Will the existing domestic%perational groundwater wells be adequate for points of
compliance?
Calais understands the three existing domestic water wells will likely be adequate for ground
water baseline and use as a down gradient "alert" well. However, Calais will need to propose a
point of compliance well on the proposed permit boundary, but down gradient from any existing
ground water wells, and able to sample ground water fracture flows from the mining activity.
• If accepted as points of compliance, what does the DRMS see as a reasonable ground
water monitoring program for the site?
Calais Resources will propose a ground water monitoring program that will include initial
monitoring to supplement the existing data so that the DRMS will be able to verify the existing
baseline ground water quality (in essence 5 quarters
• Is the present method and frequency of sampl ing adequate?
Calais Resources needs to propose a program to the DRMS.
• Will the list ofparameters presently sampled for the domestic water supply and analysis
methods he acceptable? May we reduce the analyzed parameters,, if so which ones?
We will be able to reduce the list of parameters upon further discussions with the DRMS. The
DRMS will review the data Calais provides the DRMS and let us know,
This is a fracture controlled ground water system except. for the alluvium in the stream
channel. Are the three existing domestic ground water wells adequate for use as up and
down gradient ground water sampling of both the general site fracture/faults and
alluvium?
Calais Resources will need to provide the domestic water well completion data.
• Please see the attached facilities layout map%photograph adequate for a permit
application?
The document will be acceptable as Exhibit C. Calais will need to verify all permanent man-
made structures within 200 feet of the permit boundary are shown. Also, a separate exhibit will
be needed to show all adjacent property owners.
2
