Calais agreed to
provide this data to the DRMS for its evaluation. Calais will provide mine adit discharge data,
well completion data, surface water discharge data, and domestic well data (water quality data).
• Will the DBMS require a ground water monitoring program?
Yes, DRMS will require a ground water monitoring program.
• How will DRMS set ground water quality numeric protection level or permit conditions?
The DRMS agreed the ground water quality numeric protection level or permit conditions would
likely be based on the present use of the three wells, domestic water quality. The DRMS has a
parameter list it uses and will likely base the Calais ground water standards on those, similar to
what exists for such use by the Water Quality Control Division. (If baseline data demonstrates
the area does not exceed domestic water quality standards, then will apply domestic water
quality standards. If some standards are exceeded, then other standards will be applied).
? L4
