r
An active spring and stock pond is situated across the meadow in its southeast comer.
At the southwest comer of same meadow a livestock and game trail leads to the south. A
sign which faces north has been nailed, approximately 10 feet up, to the trunk of a now -dead
aspen tree located at the head of this trail. It consists of a wooden plank on which "AL'S
ROAD" has been neatly painted in black.
Evaluation and Management Recommendations
The corral is barely recognizable as such, with virtually all of the materials having
shifted from original positions. Due to the limited nature of this resource, its deteriorated
condition and lack of integrity, it is field recommended as not eligible for listing on the
National Register of Historic Places. No further work is recommended.
5DT1797.IF is an isolated find consisting
of an opalitic chert, comer - notched projectile point
and a small chert cobble, located in the bottom of
Stevens Gulch. The point is virtually complete,
missing only the extreme tip of one shoulder tang.
The blade is triangular in shape with excurvate
edges and downswept shoulders. It is comer -
notched with expanding stem and sub - concave
base. The length is 3.04cm, width at the shoulder is
2.74cm and it is 0.43cm thick.
This point most favorably compares with Plate 1. Collected dell poiel (5DT1797.s 1).
Uncompahgre Complex Type 23, Roubideau Phase,
dating ca. 3000 -500 BC (Buckles 1971: 1220).
Evaluation and Management Recommendations
This isolated find is field evaluated as not eligible. No further work is recommended.
5DT1798.IF is an isolated find consisting of a small tested chert cobble fragment
located on a high broad ridge. Any cultural association is unknown.
Evaluation and Management Recommendations
This isolated find is field evaluated as not eligible. No further work is recommended.
of
10
